CHAPTER 45 - Radiating Light Blessing

Once a photo was taken of me standing in front of many kneeling disciples. My raised hand formed a mudra, and a beam of light descended from the sky, radiating towards the disciples. The light was milky white and was glowing in sparkling brilliance.

This photo was captured coincidentally by a man with a camera at the moment I was giving blessings to my disciples. It was a photo that captured the `Radiating Light Blessing`.

In Tantric Buddhism, we often pray to our guru, principal deity and protector to offer us blessings at all times, and this naturally comes as the `Radiating Light Blessing.` Besides having our guru, principal deity and protector radiating lights upon us, we must learn to visualize radiating lights in our Tantric practice.

For example, we recite the Great Compassion Dharani and visualize a moon disc in our hearts that has the white Sanskrit syllable, HRIH, which radiates light into a cup of water. Upon completion of our chanting, the cup of water shall become the ` Great Compassion Dharani water.`

When we recite the Usnisa Vijaya Dharani, we need to visualize a white Sanskrit syllable KHAM imprinted in the moon disc within our hearts. The syllable KHAM radiates light that illuminates all sentient beings. Once touched by this light, a person`s karma is removed, his body and mind refreshed, and he receives great wisdom.

When we recite the Light Mantra, we must visualize a golden Sanskrit syllable AH seated in the moon disc within our hearts, radiating lights to illuminate all sentient beings. Anyone who is touched by this light is removed from suffering and receives joy.

Such is the same for other mantra recitations. In Tantric Buddhism, offering blessings through radiating light is incomprehensible. The light comes from the empty space and enters into the heart of the practitioner. Through the seed syllable the light is radiated to deliver sentient beings. Through such actions, all beings dwelling in the six realms of samsara spanning all worlds shall swiftly receive great attainment.

Anyone who truly understands the workings of Tantric methods knows how precious these teachings are. The Tantric teachings can fulfill the wishes of all sentient beings in the six realms, and upon the blessings of the radiation of light, all shall be liberated permanently from birth, old age, sickness, death, and all suffering.

Let me say this: the Radiating of Light Blessing is very real.
